Does the cleanliness of my room represent my mental state?

 Yes.

Originally I thought no but now thinking about it more I think yes. My reasonings are that I use my room as a way to figure out where I am at.

What happens…

If my room is a mess it means that I have a couple of problems like overdue things, a bad grade, basically bad situations. And I have looked at them and thought ok I will deal with this.

Then I have pushed it back and back and back.

Then one Saturday morning I will decide to deal with it but my family is busy doing other things and needs my help.

So that motivation goes into something else.

Then it takes me another few weeks with other things piling up for me to deal with it and out of frustration I get everything done, I’m kind of proud that I end up doing everything anyway.

Translation…

Translating that into the mess of my room.

My room is a mess. I decide to pick up some clothes. While I am doing that my parents call me to do other things.

I am now busy doing other things.

Then my parents come into my room and are like ‘you need to clean this NOW’ and I’m like I know. But only in my head because I’m not trying to fight my parents.

Then because they told me to I clean my room and get it done.

What collective effect it has…

I think that if your room is clean then you can just sit and get things done instead of having to move things.

Or if your trying to find something but you can’t because your room is a mess.

I think I just revealed that I am a messy person. However, If you have things on your mind you are likely to think about how you can deal with them or actually which leaves you less time to deal with other things in your life. Like your room.

Although I have done this, you can clean your room in efforts to procrastinate. But its like good procrastination because your still getting things done.

Does the cleanliness of your room affect you?
